Crafting the Perfect Cup of tea

Our story

Korea holds a unique, almost magical quality, an interplay of cutting edge innovation and deep rooted tradition. It is a place of contrasts, ancient and modern, spiritual and high-tech, traditional yet globally influential. From K-pop, beauty, and cinema to centuries old tea rituals. It is a culture rooted in harmony.

ROKA Tea was born from a personal journey, my mother’s path from Korea to the Netherlands, and our return to explore her roots.

We source premium, organic teas from Hadong, Boseong, and Jeju, where tea has been cultivated since the Silla Dynasty. With every cup, ROKA shares the depth, beauty, and spirit of Korea.

Hadong

Located near Jirisan Mountains, it benefits from mountain slopes that provide extra humidity and fog and the Seomjin River that enriches the soil with nutrients. Hadong is Korea’s oldest and most traditional tea region where tea cultivation began over 1200 years ago. Tea plants often grow wild or semi wild and are mainly harvested by hand.

Boseong

Boseong, renown as the green tea capitol, is influenced by both mountain and coastal climates and famous for its scenic organic green tea fields and gentle hills, creating a stunning visual landscape. The teas are known for their high quality and have received various certifications.

Jeju Island

The emerald jewel of Korea is a volcanic island in the south with a subtropical climate, Jeju is known for its clean air, mineral rich organic volcanic soil, and abundant rainfall which creates ideal conditions for tea cultivation. The island’s steaming process during tea processing also contributes to the final product’s flavour profile.

About ROKA Tea

We bring you ROKA Tea: premium, artisanal

Korean tea from small organic farms that

preserve and respect centuries old traditions.

The practice of tea drinking dates back to

at least the seventh century, introduced by

Buddhist monks during the Silla Dynasty.

Today, Korea’s finest tea plantations can be

found in Hadong, Boseong, and Jeju Island,

places we’ve explored firsthand to curate our

tea selection
